Meet Natalie — Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

For more than 12 years, I’ve worked closely with young people — not only as a counsellor but also as a youth volleyball coach. These experiences have given me a specialized skill set and a deep passion for connecting with teens and young adults in ways that feel authentic and supportive.

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and I have over eight years of experience as a therapist offering mental health services to young people and their families.

My Therapeutic Approach
I combine warmth, validation, and genuineness with evidence-based tools from neuroscience and:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Understanding thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and learning skills to manage anxiety and overthinking.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Building tools for coping with big emotions and stress.

  • Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT): Helping parents feel empowered to support their child’s mental health.

  • Trauma-Informed Practices (including Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment): Creating safety and stability while gently addressing past pain.

I believe counselling should feel both compassionate and practical. That means you’ll feel understood, never judged, and you’ll also leave with strategies you can use in your life.

Why I Do This Work
Supporting young people is my passion. I love helping them move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling calmer, more confident, and more connected to themselves and others. I also believe in the healing power of the caregiver-child relationship which is why I support parents in building strong, supportive relationships with their children.

I have a dog, Pasley, who has become a bit of a “therapy dog in training.” She occasionally makes cameo appearances in online sessions, offering a wag, a smile, and a sense of calm.

I offer free 15-minute new client consultations to determine if my approach is a good fit for you.
